I found that all the costumes in the video were extremely offensive and stereotypical, and that those who are apart of the culture are being portrayed incorrectly. As an individual who can relate to the costumes in question, I understand the different ways these costumes are offending others. The costumes themselves are physically offensive because of how they are made. The real clothing these costumes are suppose to look like are made through hard work and effort; and expensive resources. Personally speaking, I haven't encountered such costumes but knowing that they do exist does bother me. As for the people wearing the costumes, I do not think their intentions were to offend anyone in our outside the costumes background but rather they didn't have any intent at all. A group named "Knock the vote" made a public service announcement about the new generation or "youth" who do not vote and or are not interested in political events. The video they made was to provoke the younger generation into voting. The video's focus was "trick" the youth into voting by having the older generation of voters taunting them using vulgar language ultimately stating that the new generation should stay home and vote. The video ultimately to persuade the new generation into voting by using reverse psychology. In the short video, they state arguments surrounding their bias of being "old" and that issues that affect the new generation do not matter to them because they aren't apart of the "new generation".
