Emit Tam - Samsung Folding Phone

I found this post very interesting as although I did have some kind of knowledge about some company finding this design efficient in the back of my head, your post further educated me on Samsung and how this design was brought to life. Samsung is well known for their ability to "pack" a phone with high performance tech specifications like the 12 GB of Ram which I found very surprising as for a phone, I could not image what any user would need 12 GB of ram for. But that being said Im sure it was needed and I know it couldn't hurt to have. My only issue that I found with this is Samsung's price. I cannot look at this from a marketing perspective because at first glance, the phone is cool and I would want one. That being said, the $2000-$3000 price for a phone is not something I would pay. Diving deeper into the new technology of a folding phone, I simply don't think the "hype" behind this (by educated tech personnel) is going to apply to samsung's demographic of users who simply want a working phone. Going back to the early 2000's, flip phones and slide up phones became a task as even the slightest bit of physical "labour" to use the phone to its full potential (the flip up or slide up) was found as "a lot of work" and everyday users did not like it. As the phone development "race" continued, when Touch screen was introduced and no flip up or slide up was needed, many users were persuaded into buying and liked the newer generation of phones at that time. I think Samsungs overall effort towards developing phones, should be credited, but from a business stand point, I cannot agree that this introduction to the folding phone, was necessary or will be as successful as Apple's iphone / Samsung's phones Galaxy when the age of Flip and slide up phones were invented.

Jake Gimmy - Apple's Development Event

I found your post to be very educational and informing to not only myself but many people who did not know about Apple's Worldwide Dev Conference. Often times Apple releases new products around or After the summer, now that I know about this event Im sure that this event is a vital part in the new development of Apple products that are released after it. One thing I can certainly look forward too, and have been very interested in is the technology for Apple's new airpods as they do grab my attention as a product I would purchase but I am held back by their lack of functionality for me. Currently speaking, the competitor for Airpods it he new Power Beats by Dre, these earphones in comparison to Apple's Airpods are like no other as Airpods have the possibility of falling out. With Power Beats, they do not have any wire or such but have a "clamp" that grasps around your ear allowing you to function even better than Apple airpods as there is still freedom to move around without any wires, but with the clamp the possibility of the earphones falling out is significantly lowered. Additionally, they are waterproof and work under water. Apple's airpods turn off once they come into contact with water. Overall I will now wait before purchasing new earphones as your post has informed me about possible developments in new or existing apple products.

Jansen Rambaud - Zion Williamson

Basketball is a sport that I love to watch and occasionally play. I only gained an interest in basketball recently (the past year or so). Since then I have been more upto date with basketball news and have heard of Zion quite a bit. Zion's overall highlights and build "6'7 and 285 pounds" is incredible and surely in his prime to be drafted. I found your post to be informing to me as a new fan towards basketball (at a lower level then the NBA) as new talents are always interesting to compare to existing talents to that of (for example) Lebron James, arguably one of the best (or the best) basketball players of all time. Lebron is smaller than Zion as Lebron stands at around 260pounds and 6'65. Additionally, the hype behind new upcoming players and their comparisons to existing players is interesting when you hear the casters and other sports media debating on the topic of players like LiAngelo and Lamelo ball specifically. Your post mentioned that the Knicks specifically are looking to pickup Zion in the draft, however to my eyes I think based on Zion's ability and how he has proved to live up to his hype, the Knicks are in no way his first choice when it comes to being apart of the NBA. I could see him playing and wanting to play with that of the Cleveland Cavaliers or possibly the Bucks as he would increase there already stacked big man team with Giannis.

Joshua Lin - Colin Kapernick

I agree with your statement on how Nike may have no profited largely from this but ultimately they knew as a business that they wouldn't lose much from it either. The whole gain from this (whether it failed or not) was to promote that Nike, supports racial injustice and through supporting Colin, they as a company, built an even stronger reputation. In the business world, this can be looked at as "playing the long game" which means that an action might not have effect in its current state, but does and will have effect later on.

Lara F. - Abortion Laws and Womens Rights

I was made aware of this ongoing issue through social media, as Mary ward students many of us can agree that our friends, peers and just other students attending (that we follow) were sharing their opinions and posts about these new absurd abortion laws. Overall, this entire thing made women especially angry, and they have a right to be. The simply fact that majority of men are releasing these laws and governing what women can and cannot do with THEIR bodies is ridiculous. I'm not much of a deep reader But through the news and connecting dots I listened in on the news and further understood the controversy. Through your post, hearing your own perspective and reasoning, I agree with you because women deserve to have the choice and opportunity to have or not to have an abortion and not feel pressured and or worried about being imprisoned for that choice.
