Voting is for the old

A group named "Knock the vote" made a public service announcement about the new generation or "youth" who do not vote and or are not interested in political events. The video they made was to provoke the younger generation into voting. The video's focus was "trick" the youth into voting by having the older generation of voters taunting them using vulgar language ultimately stating that the new generation should stay home and vote. The video ultimately to persuade the new generation into voting by using reverse psychology. In the short video, they state arguments surrounding their bias of being "old" and that issues that affect the new generation do not matter to them because they aren't apart of the "new generation". The whole purpose of this video was to annoy the youth into voting.
This video / advertisement surprised me because the older generation and the way the video was generally presented made me assume that It was a serious and or professional topic. Hearing the adults in the video use such vulgar language left me astonished me, it grabbed my attention. Although this ad does not specifically concern me because I am not american (or of legal age), I can still agree with the purpose / message of the video. New generations like mine rarely even talk about politics and when we do it is not in a serious manner but rather to address comical events in politics like Donald Trump. In conclusion, I think this videos purpose and message really impacted the youths view on politics and helped / will help them come to a realization that voting matters.

I feel like this advertisement will attract the youths "rebellious" side and make them want to vote to ultimately "prove" the older generation wrong. The method of reverse psychology was definitely used and I believe was used very efficiently and effectively.
