Sunday, February 3rd was the Super Bowl. The New England Patriots against the Los Angeles Rams. The game started off slowly, with most points being scored the second half of the game. It was a slow game. The halftime show was interesting with Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi. Maroon 5 and Travis Scott agreed to perform on the condition that the league donated 500 thousand dollars to Dream Corp, an American charity. The performers intro was one to remember as it featured a special effects entrance featuring Sponge Bob Squarepants scenes and Sponge bob himself. This years super bowl was not what fans expected and some were disappointed in the outcome of the game. The average cost per super bowl ticket was around four thousand dollars. Fans did not think they experienced what they paid for. As for the matchup, the Rams have been on a 19 year streak of losing. The last time the Rams won a super bowl was in 2000. On paper, the Rams had slightly better players. The rams quarter back, Jared Goff was draft pick #1 while Tom Brady of the Patriots, was 199th. The patriots last won the 2017 Super Bowl. The team in general has had more success over the Rams in the last 20 years. Statistically both Quarterbacks had similar stats, but The Patriots were the underdog in this matchup.

This years super bowl generated approximately 750 million to 1 billion dollars if not more according to Forbes. It is the biggest sports event of the year. The game was watched world wide, approximately 7 in 10 houses had the super bowl being broadcasted on a TV in the U.S. which produced the total amount of viewers ranging in 100-200million. The Super Bowl aired a lot of ads as well to bring in the most revenue possible. The average amount of money for a 30 second ad was 5.3million dollars.

I personally watched the entire Super Bowl and found the game needed to be more action packed although I couldn't have asked for a better outcome because I was rooting for the patriots to win. I would definitely agree with the fans on the price of tickets. I would not pay four thousand dollars to watch this game. Based on what I watched from my home, the game and performance should have been around two thousand dollars. I did however think the league could have put more effort into the half time entertainment.

Nike's 30th anniversary campaign

Nike's 30th "Just do it" slogan anniversary was one to remember. The campaign was memorable, it starred Colin Kaepernick with sub stars like Serena Williams, LeBron James, and Odell Beckham Jr. The Campaign starred former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick. Colin took a knee at one of his games while the american national anthem was playing. Colin was protesting against oppression and racism plaguing the black community of the United States. "I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color," Kaepernick told NFL Media. Since the incident Colin lost his job and has been unemployed for a whole year. Many companies who saw this as "disrespectful" or "rebellious". Fake news is common, and happens a lot more than you may think. It is often found or most talked about in the news because when news is fake it tends to be taken more seriously because "fake news" educates others with incorrect information. The purpose of fake news is to mislead people into thinking that specified "news" that is going on in current times is real when it is not. Often times fake news is created to stir drama or a reaction from a specific party such as a celebrity. Fake news is also a method of "click bait". Click bait is when a company, website or individual creates content with eye grabbing pictures or titles that make users click to be further educated.
